Bike Week has new theme and sponsor for 2010
Bike Week has a new sponsor and has adopted the theme ‘Everyday cycling for everyone' for 2010.
The ‘Team Green Britain' Bike Week 2010, 19-27 June, will challenge people to rethink everyday journeys and switch to cycling as the most convenient way to get around.
Team Green Britain, founded by EDF Energy, is a movement that enables people to live in a more sustainable way. It aims to help people reduce their carbon footprint by 2012 and provide advice on how to make everyday journeys as sustainable as possible.
Philip Darnton, chair of Cycling England, said: “This sponsorship will help further mainstream cycling and recruit more people than ever during Bike Week.
“We hope the extra support for event organisers will inspire more events, helping people re-discover the benefits of a healthier, more convenient, greener lifestyle.”
