20,000 Manchester pupils contest road safety quiz

Monday 13th July 2009

Eight teams contested the final of a road safety quiz organised by Manchester’s road safety team.

More than 20,000 pupils from 104 schools competed in the various rounds of the quiz to get to the final, with teachers across Manchester working hard preparing their children.

The quiz is designed to promote a range of road safety matters among 7-11 year olds. The children face questions based on the ‘Tales of the Road’ and general road safety along with observation, team, practical and individual rounds.

This year’s winners were Abbott Community Primary School with St Anthony’s Wythenshawe as runners up. The evening finished with a presentation of trophies and prize money by the Lord Mayor.
