Academy seminar attracts nine questions

Thursday 15th August 2013

The second online seminar to be hosted on the Road Safety GB Academy website, which focused on the new Road Safety Practitioner Foundation Course, attracted nine questions from seven different participants.

The seminar was hosted by Ian Edwards, who has developed the Foundation course on behalf of the Academy, on Thursday 15 August, 12.30 – 1.30pm.

The Road Safety Practitioner Foundation Course provides participants with an overview of the knowledge and skills they need to effectively and safely deliver a road safety educational intervention. The course is ideal for people just entering the road safety profession or those taking on a road safety role as a secondary task.

Questions ranged from how the course relates to the MANCAT course to the key outcomes/benefits of the pilot courses and how much time people need to set aside to complete it.

Academy members can see all the questions and answers by following this link:

The Road Safety GB Academy is the professional development arm of Road Safety GB. Complimentary membership of The Academy is offered to road safety practitioners employed by local authority members of Road Safety GB – up to a maximum of 10 places per authority. Applications are also welcomed from practitioners working in the private and voluntary sector, subject to meeting the membership criteria. The annual cost of membership for these practitioners is £35.

For more details or to apply for membership, visit The Academy website or contact Emma Norton, head of membership.
