DSA revises drink drive course system

Wednesday 30th January 2013

The Driving Standards Agency (DSA) has revised the system under which drink drive rehabilitation courses are approved, and is inviting applications from course providers.

The new arrangements are as a result of a consultation about updating the arrangements for providing training courses under the drink-drive rehabilitation scheme, including how they are funded.

The proposals are designed to create better quality courses which will encourage more offenders to take training and reduce the likelihood of them reoffending. They are also designed to make sure that courses are available in every part of the country and are of the same standard, and to allow the DSA to take action against trainers not providing courses as they should.

While training providers can decide the cost of the course, it cannot be more than £250.

The closing date fro applications is 8 February.

Click here to download the application forms, or for more information contact the DSA’s drink drive rehabilitation team on 0115 936 6121.
