DSA resource puts young people 'In the Driving Seat'

Thursday 2nd September 2010

The Driving Standards Agency has launched a new resource to help make young people safe and responsible road users.

‘In the Driving Seat’ aims to help students aged 14-18 years understand how behaviour and attitude affect outcomes, through a story about a group of new and learner drivers.

This resource comprises a story on DVD and lesson plans which link closely to the Personal, Social, Health and Economic (PSHE) education curriculum.

The DSA says that feedback from teachers has been positive; they feel the lesson plans provide plenty of ideas, and students have also praised the way the film helped them think about consequences.

In the Driving Seat is published by TSO on behalf of DSA. A complimentary copy has been sent to all local authority road safety managers in England and Wales.

TSO offers Road Safety GB members a 25% discount on DSA publications – click here for more details of this offer.

Other readers should visit the TSO website for more information and/or to purchase copies of In the Driving Seat.
