West Yorkshire's Enhanced Rider Scheme goes from strength to strength
Following a successful trial last year, the Enhanced Rider Scheme is being rolled out across west Yorkshire.
During the trial in Leeds 20 riders completed the course and it has now been rolled out to include four DSA approved trainers. More than 300 hours of free rider training will be provided through the scheme.
Dave Glanville, PTW road safety officer for West Yorkshire, said: "Improving the skills riders have to deal with the ever changing road environment is vital if we are to see a reduction in rider casualties.
"And by offering subsidised ERS places and riding ‘goodies’ for those completing the course we hope to get as many riders as possible through the scheme in 2010/11 and spread the word about the Enhanced Rider Scheme"
